I don't know much about donkey's but should the one in Cassie's blurp be eating the dog or goat or whatever by the head? This is how rumours start. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rj9dj9fIbvY

Hey Wyatt - I couldn't really believe it either but the word on the street I keep hearing is that donkeys are awesome guard animals. Looks like the donkey has caught a fox. My brother suggested I get a donkey to guard my future chickens, and I thought he was joking. The permies thread Cassie's talking about is this one: http://www.permies.com/t/928/predators/livestock-guardian-animals-llamas-great and people share their experiences & thoughts on guard animals.

- without trying to pass myself off as any kind of expert on the subject what the donkey has obviously killed, and is showing off as his trophy is to big to be a fox,
here in New York we would call that a coy-dog ! A coy-wolf would be bigger yet !

There are documented reports of donkeys killing cougars, but If I was betting, my money would be on the cougar ! For the Crafts ! Big AL

There are pictures floating around the internet of a donkey putting the beat down on a mountain lion. Some say it was already dead and the donkey was just tossing it around like a rag doll, but I don't know. I do know I have seen them toss goats and sheep if they are in a bad mood.

I don't think that goat tossing is politically correct any more.

A good donkey is very protective of her herd, and will go to great lengths to remove any wolves-in-sheeps-clothing...

I have a 15 hand tall Jack Donkey. He is rough on Dogs and they can be rough on calves. A friend had a calf killed by one.
