Hello friends. Due to a recent remodel I have lots of old cabinets and drawers from my kitchen. I would love to make a beehive out of them if possible. Can anyone direct me to some info on this project? Thank you.

years ago, a swarm moved into an old dresser on my friend's porch. he had quite a time getting them into a proper hive.

maybe the best bee use for those drawers would be as bait hives. build a cover, cut an entrance, add some brood comb and lemongrass oil and you're set.

I know what brood comb is but I thought it was something the bees had to make. Is there a DIY approach?

get some from a friend who keeps bees. some propolis in there wouldn't hurt your cause, either.

Thanks Tel. I have a couple of drawers that I plan to convert to swarm traps. I appreciate your help.
