I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I plan on being a regular around here. My family (wife & 3 kiddos) are close to being first time home/land owners in Canyonville, OR. There is a comfortable manufactured home on 2.5 acres with a few outbuildings. The grand vision is to have a really beautiful functional area close to the home (hammock, veggies, herbs, etc) and have as many ponds & food forests I can work in around swales and paddocks. For wildlife we would like a small cow (haven't done the research yet), bees, a few goats/sheep and a dozen chickens. I run two online video production companies doing mostly animation, and my wife is a full time mama and is homeschooling so far. I have been reading a ton on the subject and have watched easily 100+ hours of Geoff Lawton, John (growing your greens), and recently Paul Wheaton.

I don't want to bait and switch anyone as well. I have gathered that most in the permaculture are not Christians, but we are. We love Jesus, but love and respect anyone. I hope to connect with anyone in the area who stumbles across this post! Sharing seeds, plants, knowledge, friendship, board games, good stories, and maybe even a beer. Here is my e-mail: pandamotion@gmail.com

Hello Daniel! I'll shoot you an email too, just trying to get acquainted with the forums, too. My family and I live in SW Washington, but we're hoping to be on our own property by this Summertime. We've got two boys and a third little one on the way and are also home schooling. It would be great to keep in touch, we're a Christian family too, which seems like it's own rare island in the Portland area! It would be awesome to swap advice on home schooling and homesteading sometime, take care!
