Very clear explanations of how to build top quality hives cheaply, using tools most of us would have. His main tools are:
Routers - he has multiple routers setup to do different jobs, but you could get away with one if you were happy to switch bits and change setups more frequently
A cross cut saw for cutting material to length accurately.
A ripping saw
Key to his system is that he has made a series of simple wooden jigs to do each job accurately and quickly, making an efficient production line. In these videos you see the jigs in sufficient detail that you could make your own up. His frame making system is especially neat, as he can knock up frames as good as shop bought ones from scrap 2 by 4 off cuts. I've estimated that I could make a complete hive for about £50 using this approach.
