Hey Permies! I'm excited to join this community and learn a thing or two. My name is Ben and I grew up on the coast in Rhode Island. I spent a few years in Paonia, a tiny farming/mining/ranching/solar/hippy/redneck town in western Colorado. Then I convinced my girlfriend to move back to Vermont, where I felt at home among the abundant trees, water, and other resources. She's now ready to head back west however, and we already have our eyes on a little 4.5 acre piece of land. Though I love the New England forests, the builder in me is excited by the idea of building in a sunny, dry climate. We are ready to put down roots and start building and growing!
I've got building experience, (including cob, strawbale, and timber framing), renewable energy skills, and backyard veggie garden experience. Lots to learn about real permaculture though, so that's why I'm here!
