HELP: Where Does Water Fit In As A Topic???

HELP: There seems to be no end to topics in Permaculture, but I don't see a place for the Topic of Water? I may just be overlooking it. There are a few sub-categories, like Rain Catchment, or Ponds, but I'm looking for ideas on Water Storage for those who have it delivered, or those who try to store it after it's caught.

Specifically, this moment, I have algae growing in my 1000 gal. tank. I need to find a way to 1) prevent it, and 2) clean it up, or filter it once it's present, and 3) to understand it a lot more. Where do these topics get put on this site, if there's a place? Thanks.

Algae requires light to grow... Water stored in a dark container won't grow algae. If it was me, I'd be likely to apply a coat of black paint to the tank and it's lid...

I would consider water storage and its associated issues to fall under the water catchment category. No point in "catching" water if you've made no allowances for holding onto it.

I think the rainwater catchment forum is the best. Its subtitle is 'barrels, spigots, hoses, gutters, tanks ...' which I think covers what you need.

Yes, I agree. I've had mine painted for a while, but realize I'm still getting some light through. I've got to paint some more.

I'm curious about all the different strains of algae... are some harmful, poisonous, or are they all beneficial?

Thanks. I guess I was thinking water should be a category by itself, then we could branch into all the side-categories... ie; rain catchment, gray water, tanks, ponds, filtering, algae, springs, wells etc.
