I recently acquired just under 5 acres of mini farm, in SE Oregon, just west of the Oregon/Idaho line, property has its own irrigation well yet the surface water keeps the trees watered once the roots are down about 6 feet, nice fertile soil : )... looking for like minded person to share it with.

A little about me, female, 56, trim, attractive, (though an old neck injury demands that I keep my hair short, as there is much less pain this way : ) I have no 2 legged kids, just horses.....I love to plan/build, bat ideas around, just need a buddy to share in the projects... looking for long term buddy for win-win situation, though I am not closed to the possibility, I have pretty much ditched the dating idea, now pretty much just looking for project buddy (male/female/clydesdale ...someone to share the place....and help taking it in the self sufficiency direction......

Seeking that compatible someone who is into experimenting with different building techniques, for the fun and accomplishment of it : ) ... someone who likes to plan and bat ideas around, then build it together... whether it be the add on pit greenhouse, building a rocket stove heater for the greenhouse....or house, or revamping the solid old barn, establishing a garden, planting some land into fruit, etc, etc, etc....someone who is into the joy of a shared remodelling project on the neat old stone house, (it is livable now) ....updating the barn or planting or grazing the fields. Years ago it was a chicken/egg farm, an orchard, then a row crop farm, then pasturing large critters.

I have 2 1/2 horses that are my kids so a love of horses is helpful. I am into natural hoof care and have even thought of doing a small scale hoof rehab set up on site too, just ideas : )

I am friendly and sociable but also a bit of a homebody in a sense, I love some fun trips but want home to be my haven with all the special little personalizations that make a place home : ) I prefer peaceful and am not into loud, boisterous and noisy boom box type stuff..I like a peaceful home. I love to read and play board games, cards, talk, plan, etc... the simple things are what bring pleasure to my world.

If you think you might be a good fit, please get in touch ...and we can email each other with more info : )

Thanks, DD

Hi, D. I'm 55 rebuilding a house in eagle point OR, on 2 acres, experienced in most of what you stated, built my own wind gens, solar systems, 5 rocket mass heaters and have been a builder for most of my life, have researched many different types of building methods.
Don't know that moving right now is desired, but would love to connect and discuss what you want to to do and assist possibly.
P.M. me if you like. Oh I'm 6'2" 210# and told I'm not hard to look at.

David

It never fit... the 56 thing.. and today a friend who didn't yet know my age was astonished, saying, "56? I would have guessed early 40s at the latest!" don't you just love new friends : )
I never like to turn the camera around as selfies distort, but inadvertently took one of my college girl legs, but not gonna post it ; ) ...it was a pic of my patio tomatoes, from my porch swing, and my legs got caught in it.. just runs in the family..not the legs... the age thing, dad never got over his ego trip, he was moving my brother into college years ago when, due to strong family resemblance, repeatedly got asked, are you brothers?
...so, I wish I hadn't put the age on here, just wipe it from your memory OK.. ha, probably about as effective a suggestion as saying "don't think about pizza".... ; )
Happy holidays everyone : ) DD

Weather here right now: chilly, but I am inside : ) Mid week looks like we will be climbing above freezing for most of the night and day temps....

Hullo. My name is Zach. Currently, just turned the magic 44. I am 6'6" and 227 Lbs. Short brown hair, and blue eyes.  That being said, I am looking for friends to write and talk to, to further my fantasies of finally living away from "it". I am a nurse by trade, because I enjoy helping people, and solving health problems. I believe more in homeopathic healing than I do in pharmaceutical healing, which can be troubling at times.

Currently residing in NY, questioning a move out west again. I am a gypsy to some degree, and to other degrees a hermit homebody. When I find a place I like, I stay. I love completing tasks and creating new ideologies. I believe most people are inherently good, and some just need a nudge in the right direction. I have a manifesto working in my mind on a daily basis, and am just now putting the words into play. I enjoy gardening, creating, cooking, baking, fermenting, hiking, spelunking, building, wondering, wandering, beach combing, looking, reading, the sound of rustling fir branches as they swish in the wind, talking to others, bouncing ideas off of other minds, intelligent conversation, debating the light of nothingness, loving and being loved.

I really enjoy looking at and understanding abstract expressionism. The meaning is in the space between reality and imagination, this is where I find comfort. My favorite artist is Dali. I speak some Spanish, but mostly slang, as I grew up in LA (not Lower Alabama). I have a pretty good understanding of what most people need, and little understanding as to what they want, unless given subtle clues. I can read between the lines, but at times find I am reading a dialect not spoken, and can misinterpret the meaning. Everyone has a story to tell, but some don't want to share. I find that being static is difficult for me, yet I can sit in humbling silence for hours just looking and thinking. I have a need to stay busy, and completing. My musical interests include Will Oldham, The Clash, Depeche Mode, Beck, EDM, Wagner, Peter Tosh, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, But really I will listen to anything or nothing. I am somewhat eclectic. I can be sarcastic, especially to those that do not know I am sarcastic, and end conversations in conundrums.

May we all find that which we search for and be humble when found.

Hello and how's the horses?  I see a recent post. How's that Idaho mountain possibility looking?. I'm traveling doing permaculture permaculture. I need to go to Idaho to explore and pickup a trailer. Would be interested in helping with certain aspects of the project. Right now I'm mostly focusing on free PC design consulting, renewable energy consulting, efficient stove design, plant surveys, or ?  I found the the little PM button. Will send a link. Thanks

Hi DD:

Have you found your Clydesdale??

I'm a bountiful and blissful yogi and would love to visit your homestead and be a part of that peaceful community if you have a need for someone
who loves horses feet as much as you do! I actually work on human feet-I have a healing touch session called Feet by Ajeet-that's my name.

I live in Knoxville Tennessee, am selling my home of 17 years and moving up to Maine for the winter, then living in some homesteading places to learn
how to build cob and other permaculture earth works and then, who knows?

I would love to hear from you if you are looking for any visitors or folks to work there for a while.

Peace and Blessings,

Ajeet Khalsa
