I recently saw an email about the newer format and singles forum, so I figured why not throw it out there here also?

The easiest way for me to write this is to copy and paste my OKC profile that can also be seen here: http://www.okcupid.com/profile/banjobrain

My self-summary

Looking for my permaculture / regenerative agricultural soulmate...

Consistently evaluating life over the past few years has led me to where I am now. Actively working towards independence, self-sufficiency and becoming a farmer and small business owner.

After exciting and sometimes frivolous living in my 20s and 30s, I am at a point where I seek to live simply, deliberately, and frugally. After quite a few years spent wandering, I've returned home to Ohio.

My mentors and role models have become the people I surround myself with. I actively participate in being the change I wish to see in the world. I have little interest in the media and politics.

I am a proponent of freedom and personal liberty and identify with voluntaryism and the principle of non-aggression. Again, I have little interest in politics but am happy to discuss the reason why.

As a single man in my late 30s, I live my life with purpose. I do not have any personal or consumer debt. I feel very strongly about living debt free and prefer a similar mindset with friends / partners.

I enjoy spending time with people, developing relationships and being sexually active. OKC has resulted in several friendships that remain to this day. I identify with "ethically non-monogamous" but would prefer to have a partner to share life with.

In addition to working full time at a local tree farm, I actively farm and grow produce for sale at a local farmers' market, organize a local meetup group, and am trying to grow my own business.

I am involved with the local food and sustainability movement and am working on becoming more involved as time allows. I'm also a junk food junkie and sometimes eat fast food and PBR. I'm probably not as crunchy as you wish I was. Others think I'm way too crunchy.

Another passion of mine is old-time music. I am more proficient in banjo but am working on my fiddling. I am a simple man with simple pleasures. I love walking aimlessly in the woods. Let's go!

Myers Briggs tests interest me and often times, my test results show me as having an INFJ personality. Again, more fodder for discussion over drinks and/or a bonfire. I enjoy craft beers - IPAs in the summer - Great Lakes Christmas Ale right now. Yes please.

I keep an ever-growing "to-do" list. I'm an Evernote junkie and use this as my second brain. Because I lead a very busy and active lifestyle, I really enjoy the down time when I have it.

If you've read this far, I'd like to invite you to continue reading the rest of my profile and we'll see how deep the rabbit hole goes.

It's worth mentioning I am 420 friendly - and feel this is worth mentioning because sometimes this can be a deal breaker for some people - much like cigarette smoking is close to becoming a deal breaker for me.

I work and live seasonally. It is my career and my life. I am not interested in what most would consider a "serious relationship" at this time. Fun and friendships are key - however, all relationships are to be taken seriously - no matter how "casual" they may be. Mutual respect is critical.

OKC has been a very effective tool at forming healthy, casual relationships as it is a good platform to effectively communicate wants and needs before saying *anything* to anyone.

Congratulations if you're still reading! I'm very impressed.

What I’m doing with my life

...makes great discussion over drinks. Plus...I pretty much nailed it above with my long-winded answer.

I’m really good at

...filling out online dating profiles

The first things people usually notice about me

Lately...it seems to be my beard.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and foodedit essay

At any given time, I am reading books on, researching, or living any of the following genres:

Permaculture, Organic Farming, Self-Reliance, Self-Sufficiency, Health and Wellness, Erotica, BDSM, Homesteading, Preparedness, Simple Living

Currently reading The Humanure Handbook, The Market Gardener, One Straw Revolution, Gaia's Garden, and Sex at Dawn.

Music tastes are in line with most of what can be heard on soma.fm at any given time for any given mood. I'm a big podcast listener and currently listen to more podcasts than music.

All ethnic foods are enjoyed and it's nice to explore and try and find new places to eat periodically. Getting out to enjoy a sensual eating experience is enjoyable - looking for dates to get out and enjoy restaurants that specialize in local foods. I need to do some "research" on potential future customers to serve with our farm...and think doing so with a date would be lots of fun!

The six things I could never do without

*witty response removed - please standby*

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Where I've been, Where I am, and Where I'm going...

On a typical Friday night I am

During the early spring time, I am generally taking it easy and getting to bed early. Often times getting ready for a day at the farmers' market each Saturday morning.

All throughout the year, my activities vary. The seasons play into my life and my career...so it is critical that people understand it is much more challenging for me to go out and spend time "dating" during the growing season - or any season due to a lifestyle geared towards homesteading, sustainable farming, and regenerative agriculture.

You should message me if

...you're reading this on permies.com

...you find what's written in this profile appealing and wish there was still a section that said, "What is the most private thing you are willing to admit?"

What happened to it?

That always made for the best icebreaker. If you want to talk about that, then message me. We'll probably both have some good stories to share and maybe even make a few more in the process.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit? Well...it's really not quite that easy, Tabitha. That comes with time and a little playful banter.
See ya later boys, I think I'm in love. Oh wait, she's just a tiny ad:
