Have you checked out our Permaculture Chickens guy's YouTube channel yet? Justin Rhodes with Abundant Permaculture is one of the best resources for information on raising chickens the permaculture way - from growing your feed, to butchering, and everything in between.

Right now he's doing a special series of videos, "100 Days of Growing Food", during which he's going to see how much of his own food he can grow in 100 days! In this video he picks up his chicks from the post office - the start of another food source!

Show him some love and subscribe to his YouTube channel, and see what you can learn from him! His Permaculture Chickens films are a tremendous source of information as well, if you're looking into starting your own backyard flock.

I have been watching every day for the last 3-4 weeks. That family is awesome. He runs a farm, takes care of 4 children (Thing 1 and Thing 2, Miss Messy Hair and Mr. Brown) and a wife (the Beautiful One). He is so busy grazing his cows and raising chickens (dino's). And on top of all that, each day he films what happens, and does a ton of editing. That is a huge amount of editing each day!

I am a big fan.

The littlest one "Mr. Brown" is about my sons age and my favorite in these videos. Trying to figure out his nick name though.

We love his channel and have learned SO much!
Sweet little Gideon gets his nickname from a beloved Dr. Seuss book called
"Mr Brown Can Moo, Can You?"

Oh the wonderful things Mr Brown can do!

You were not the only one!! Katie, thanks for solving this mystery for me.

I will never have cattle or pigs, and farm in a totally different environment/manner than he does, but I love his vlogs. Lotta respect for someone working so hard to bring his kids closer to the land and their roots.

In my house, we think of  Justin as Mr Brown's Dad first,  chicken guy second.
This grants Justin authority he would not otherwise have.
When I told my wife "Justin Rhodes  said the chickens don't need a heater", she cared not one bit.
So they got a heater.

Then we watched Justin with his kids.
We watched them on tour.
We watched him with his wife.
Now, she cites Mr.  Browns Dad when she is "supervising"  my choices in chicken care 😜
No need for a heater,  says she but Mr Brown's Dad says ventilation is key...

And she wants a cow.
