I rented a small house in Kensington CT for a decade, " wild asparagus used to pop up every spring in a pasture across the road. Some walks over there would produce any where from 3 to 30 fine, tender specimens. Grilled over real charcoal for a minute produced , something like heaven. I always left some behind to go to seed.
Was also a small spring with watercress untill someone found it as well but "yanked" instead of just bringing a pair of scissors to harvest responsibly. Along with a little of fresh dill, Cains Mayonaise, and cracked black pepper, served on Brookline Bakery rye bread toast??? Add it's a hot summer evening??? Nuff said. Lol. Been twenty years since I had a
water cress sandwhich,,, but I got me thinking, perhaps it has been too long. That's another reason that I like this forum.sometimes you don't miss what you had untill something you read triggers a memory
