Hey everyone -- took a cue from permaculture container gardening and developing an integrated self watering vermicomposting planter. The design is open source, so once it's ready you can download the file (for free) and make it at your local makerspace, fablab or workshop. You can see the model with annotations on this cool viewer: https://sketchfab.com/models/47de166c78754637b0e82ea4c0450e45

The idea is as follows:

- Worms spread castings from rear chamber into soil without need for manual mixing
- Worm tea drips into 18 liter water reservoir at base and wicks into soil via capillary matting
- Soil shelves optimise growing area in small spaces
- Components made from recycled materials
- Components snap together without screws or glues
- Two kits can stand back to back to create larger "circular" system

Also needs a new name.....bit of a mouthful at the moment!

Any thoughts on the design would be appreciated! You can see more info here if interested: http://community.aker.me/t/vermiplanter-development/234/10?u=tristan
