I'm curious to hear how they do for you Orin I suspect you are a bit higher in elevation there which means shorter growing season but some benefits like more rain.....

I'll purple moosage you every time I make picture posts each weekend about their pre-planting care, planting, growing care, and harvest!     ...I'll make those posts on this thread.

I'm very lucky to have someone in Montana send me MT grown seed :)  -thanks again!

BRK Day 41

Good day yesterday: seeds from William arrived; more seeds in the ground at the base camp; all the horizontals for the Alterton Abbey junk pole fence have been collected; and Taco Tuesday!

BRK Day 42

We accomplished little needed tasks (mulching the berm shed, finding if the old butt warmer will fit in the new braced berm shed space, refueling vehicles, recorded a pod cast and a video from a planning meeting), AND got junk poles!  Alterton Abbey is going to get a fence.

BRK Day 44

Friday came and went!  Now it's the weekend....probably cut some wood for the FPH RMH this morning. Yesterday was a good day for junk pole fence in the morning and an in town task in the afternoon!

We collected the junk poles as usual and collected more brush for the hugel kultures! Next week, we'll be putting up sections between the uprights!

BRK Day 45

Good Morning!  We got it going on now...  Enough Boots to do multiple things at once!  After doing a few more hours of nesting on Saturday, I made it up to my one acre and did some modding!

...what did I do on my acre???   Whoa now, that's just for those people (like William Schlegel and Greg Martin) who have supported my Ant Village One Acre Mod to see full details! All other non-engaged viewers will have to be satisfied with a single long shot video of my acre activities which won't show much detail at all.

If you haven't noticed, I've not missed a single day of posting since my arrival and my daily posts have had real content. Is that bragging? probably, but also fact! It is very possible I'm going to be the very first Ant Village inhabitant which will have not only a livable structure finished by winter, but water cachement AND a first harvest!!! All while  being a Permaculture Boot! But who knows, maybe there'll be another type of virus outbreak I'm not immune to or some other twist of fate...

....Makes you wonder just how far I've gone already doesn't it???   ...oooh you have no idea!!!

Next Sunday, you can become an engaged viewer of my efforts; perhaps you'll get my first published book:  "How I became the first successful Ant Village Inhabitant Wheaton Labs". But before I trip, spill the cream, and break the eggs, here's a vid and a photo to recap last week!

Here's a side of effect of a group of people stripping junk poles:

BRK Day 46

It was a good weekend for my One Acre Mod!  I got a fence around a pyramid hugel kulture bed and did some other things only viewable by those who've sent support (Thank you William and Greg)...they're getting the full low-down...if you want to get involved, you can take a look here on the Boot Love thread.....next weekend, I'll provide multiple methods to become an engaged viewer :)

hmmm...... now, here's a view of an inhabitant on the One Acre Mod and a vid to show my first meeting with him?her? .....

BRK Day 47

Yesterday was both good and long.....and Jennifer made cornbread -nope, no pics, it didn't last long enough!

We mended the FPH rear paddock's junk pole fence and then went to Alterton Abbey to build the fence there with all that junk pole we've been collecting.

After lunch, it was base camp seeding and mulching time!
