Sad day yesterday. We knew it was coming... but we didn't know when... got the phone call saying the whole herd of jersey cows (including 2 A2 cows) were being loaded up and going away ! We only discovered A2-A2
milk last summer. We found it to be the only
dairy (besides goat and sheep) my wife can consume without a reaction. We were offered a good price to buy one of the heifers , she was even bred ! But our current circumstances did not allow us to make a milking commitment ! Five years from now maybe but not now ... dang it ! So, we were getting gallons of milk at $4 a gal 15 miles from home. Now, we can still get A2 its just $8 a gal 75 miles away or $ 9.98 a gal 60 miles away ! We do go shopping every 3 weeks or so 60 miles away, so we will buy some milk but jeez, 20 dollars too get 2 gallons ! Yes we make butter ,cheese and use some of the skim in cooking but ... I'm looking for an alternate source. Anybody in western sanders county or eastern bonner county got A2-A2 ??
