duane, those members of that bison herd will not be available for sport hunting, most likely never, they are in A. a national park and Canada is very much like the US about hunting on NP lands.
B. It will take a herd of 16 animals around 40 years to build to numbers that will resemble the 300+ herd of Yellowstone NP, USA.
If a person wants to play "buffalo hunter" there are commercial herds already established in the US that allow you to shoot one.
If you want to do it right you would use a bow and arrow from horseback or on foot.
If you want to be like Buffalo Bill Cody, you will use a large bore rifle from a distance.
