I think it's a great idea. Reindeer are better suited to that environment, and have a very long history of domestication.
I'd also consider Icelandic sheep instead of cattle in far-north environments, for both milk and meat.

Icelandic sheep are hardy I admit but not as hardy as Reindeer . Often Icelandic sheep are kept " indoors " during wintering In Iceland whilst Reindeer are not .
I was unaware you could milk Icelandic sheep is the yield worth it ?
