Located on the Dragoon Mountains in SE Arizona in the Chihuahuan Desert at about 5000' elevation.

Sky Island Mushrooms is an income generating business for our non-profit: Integrated Health Corp.

We are looking for smart, enthusiastic, pioneer type permaculture people that want to build a paradise.  We have lots of work within the mushroom company as we are actively building the business (and still finishing construction on some parts).  I need technicians (harvesting, packaging, preparation and sterilization of substrates, value-added products etc), an assistant manager, marketers and a webmaster.

We also own ~200 acres of prime mountain land between 2 properties which needs designers and permaculturists who can implement sound plans.  3 sides of one of the properties has recently burned in the 'Lizard Fire', only native vegetation was lost fortunately however we are now in great need of erosion control and revegetation as the summer monsoon rains are coming. [this part of AZ gets virtually all its rain in the summer from about mid july to end of september, avg ~14 inches]

We have funding, supplies and machinery (big excavators, 3 dump trucks, etc).  We need people who are willing to work.  We can pay a stipend for skilled labor as well as places to stay on property including furnished cabins.  We grow gourmet and medicinal mushrooms with plans to expand quickly into a sprouting business, ~80,000 sqft of greenhouse, orchards, events/weddings, essential oils, spirulina, alternative energies, insect protein, Sepp Holzer style earthworks and any good income generating ideas you bring can potentially be implemented.

we have a certified commercial kitchen, a full size swimming pool, casitas, mountains, rock climbing and so much more.

grapevine ranch listing (acquired in November):  http://www.headquarterswest.com/listings/grapevine/

Please contact me directly to start a conversation as we have a lot to offer the right people who want to work hard and live on the mountain.

We are currently not accepting volunteers at the moment. If you have high interest in the mushroom farm feel free to contact for future availability.

thanks Zach

But how did the elephant get like that? What did you do? I think all we can do now is read this tiny ad:
Heat your home with the twigs that naturally fall of the trees in your yard
