Hey guys, I wanted to start up a thread where we can see the zone method in action in everyone lives. Its interesting to see how people apply it from things inside and outside of their home. I have a video linked below demonstrating how I applied it to my favorite vest. I show a bit of my zone one gardens in my second episode if your interested in seeing that too.
link to vest zone method video is below.

Oooo!  This is very important to me:  I used to have my vegetable garden in front of the house where it wasn't very convenient to visit, care for, or harvest.  Once I moved it to a few feet from the kitchen door, and it became "the Kitchen Garden" it became wonderfully convenient and a quality of life enhancer.  Vegetable garden languished and died, kitchen garden is a joy to experience!

Vegetable garden was probably Zone 2-3, Kitchen Garden is definitely Zone 1.

Very true, I have all of my favorite vegetables and herbs planted on the deck right outside from my kitchen and its wonderfully convenient. I tend to keep shortlived and frequently harvested one up on the deck, and long wait one time harvests in some raised beds in my backyard.

I zoned out my kitchen and dining room.

Things used with the oven are close to the oven. Frying pans, used the most, are over it or on the stove. Dishes and silverware are in the dining area. Hot water cups are by the coffee/tea station with the coffee and tea. Dry noodles are by the stove, but baking stuff is by a counter and cook books. The compost bin is by a knife, peeler, and cutting board and within an arms reach of the potatoes, garlic, and onions. The canning stuff is up high and extras in the basement. The stuff that shouldn't be eaten daily (chips) are also up high. All the dish cleaning stuff is within comfortable reach of the sink, including a corner of magic eraser to clean labels off of canning jars. Can opener is with canned stuff and wine opener is with the wines. It annoys some people because it's not the traditional way to keep things, but tradition isn't always smart. I also see dark clouds appear over people's head when they get a wine bottle and then scour the kitchen for a wine opener only to find it was right next to them while pulling the bottle out.
