HA! That's funny as shit! I love cats, wife and I have 6 of them. I'll be thinking and laughing about this all day.

Edit: Still chuckling about this, but in defense of the cat, it's totally the shopkeepers fault. He shouldn't have open bins filled with an assortment of different food grade cat litters. Lids on those bins would keep pesky cats out, as well as dirt, dust, flying insects, people hair, cat hair.......

A lot of bodegas have cats for rodent control and personality. Even in huge urban, it's a fixture. Now, the place mentioned there, should have had lids on the bins.

No worse than seagulls or squirrels learning to come in the door, snatch food and run either... it happens.  Any big warehouse like place with food in it tends to get wild songbirds in there as well from time to time and the staff tries to get rid of them. Meantime they cause damage ad shouldn't be there...

The one I don't like is when someone brings a non service dog in and don't watch what they're doing and the dog raises a leg several places, or sticks head in the meat display and licks the packages, stuff like that.

(an urban bank branch I went to had a guard on duty in lobby. I walked in one day with a fellow that had gotten out of a big RV in the lot, and had a white toy poodle running free with him like it owned the world. The guard spoke up, I backed up and did the sign language for I had nothing to do with him or dog. I went to the counter as he argued with the guard that the dog was harmless and never did anything. As it raised leg and wet on one of the brass stanchions holding the velvet rope. THEN it went and wet a really expensive handwoven basket that hid one of the lobby plants' pots. When I left he was trying to clean things up and they were looking up what the basket cost. The dog 'never did anything' because he was oblivious to what it was doing)

Maybe he went home and went to bed. And took this tiny ad with him:
