Can I grow hemp legally in Australia?

People grow sunflowers for oil and you can grow hemp seed oil in the health food shop. Is growing hemp allowed in the home garden in Australia? Would be an easy crop (and an annual privacy screen) and you could press your own oil. Is it allowed and can I buy the seeds legally?

Looks like the situation across the ditch is quite similar to that in NZ:


Some red tape, required annual visits from snooping authorities, and a considerable expense. This is why I'm not doing it...not sustainable from a business perspective on a smallholding.
