Hi Guys.  This is my first year planting onions.  I started them from seeds in January.  I got excited last weekend and planted them outside.  They all had about 3 or 4 little leaves on them.  Anyways, the forecast looked great for the 10 days after I planted them but now the forecasters calling for another storm and overnight temps of 25-28 degree's.  Will the onions be ok or will this kill them off?  I'd rather not kill a few months worth of work if I can avoid it   Next year I'll move my planting date up another week or 2 just to be safer.  I figured it would be fine because I'm seeing onion grass growing all over the yard.  I thought onion grass and onions are probably similar enough.  I'm in Zone 6b-7a near Philadelphia.

I believe you will be fine. My bulbs are out as well, I did the same thing you did...we are about 2 hours away from each other. If you want to be safe you can always put some sort of plastic tent over it or glass depending on how many you have.

I pour pee around the edges of the mulch to stop the hare eating all my cabbages.  Not sure if it would work against squirrels.  And equally not sure if want pee on the onions.  I guess it depends how long it will be before you harvest them...

I tried the pee thing a few times and they seem to ignore it.  I'm in a suburb and they'll stand 5ft away from me with little concern
