I’m looking for self-motivated folks who want to get into the nitty-gritty of practicing permaculture here on my 19 acre homestead (informally named "wu wAcres") 40 minutes outside Boone, NC and not far from the New River and Blue Ridge Parkway. Many opportunities for gaining valuable experience and discovering the magical world of creative ecology.

Projects Include:
-Forest Garden Establishment (100 trees/shrubs comprising 18 genera of fruit & nuts in the ground, more going in this fall). "Understory" of Perennial Food and Medicine Plants.
-No-Till Vegetable Gardening
-Wildcrafting Mushrooms and Medicines
-Tending Ducks & Bees
-Outdoor Kitchen Construction
-Plant Propagation (seed, cuttings, etc)
-Putting Food By (Drying, Fermenting, Canning, Freezing)
-Cool Things you come up with and implement

No experience is required, but I invite passion and dedication. This is a non-monetary, informal work-exchange offered as long as the agreement serves both of our needs. Looking for folks who want to spend at least a month or two here. Prefer folks who have roots or wish to set roots in the southern appalachian bioregion.

To inquire further, send me a private message and tell me a bit about yourself and your interests.

...Also, does anyone get the name/double entendre I've given this spot? I think it's hilarious, but maybe spending time by myself has led to an esoteric sense of humor.
