Hi everyone,
I'm in Thomaston, CT (Western Connecticut), zone 6a bordering zone 5b. My elevation is 480 feet. The soil is sandy/loam I want to say. I'm in the lower part of town with many hills/mountains surrounding, no view tho.
I'm looking to plant everything and anything that thrives.
So far I have 2 apples, Illinios everbearing mulberry, medlar, Hardy cactus, cornelian cherry, garlic, Asian pears, rhubarb
I have access to strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, asparagus, honey berry, herbs, Jerusalem artichoke, paw paw, American persimmon.
I know there is so much more to collect and build with.  There is a great nursery up the street who has a lots of plants, but not all.
I'm looking for people near me to exchange or buy plants, especially dwarf fruit trees, seems you have to order almost a year in advance to get them.
I'm also going to be planting stone fruits by seed in a larger area, if you have some really good sooner fruit, please contact me. I'll be keeping track of where I get each seed from so you can name the variety if you give it to me, good way of keeping in touch.
This will happen in mid June when I leave Florida and driver north, maybe I should find some nurseries on my way up to buy plants.
Thank you for reading this, any help would be appreciated.
We noticed he had no friends. So we gave him this tiny ad:
five days of natural building (wofati and cob) and rocket cooktop oct 8-12, 2018
