I love black mulberry but can't plant it because of the stains.

So I need to plant red mulberry (shahtoot or Pakistani) or white mulberry (King White/white shahtoot) but have never tasted one before. I don't know what tastes better.

I have Sweet Lavender. It’s almost totally white. It tastes fine but has a less complex flavor than the other mulberries I have eaten. It may not bee quite as productive but my tree is still young.  I would recommend planting it if it’s near a house. If it’s in a food forest, I’d try a variety of trees.

I prefer the mulberries that grow wild or feral here. They have black fruit and stain badly, including teeth and lips.  I believe they are Morus rubra, but I understand we have a lot of hybrids. Does anyone know if there are still pure, native Morus rubra in Missouri?

If you two don't stop this rough-housing somebody is going to end up crying. Sit down and read this tiny ad:
