The babies are here!!  We have chickens but these are our first turkeys so we are like new parents - have to check on them every 5 minutes.  I don't know if this link will work but i'm going to give it a try.  Pics of our new babies.

We are planning to try to make them very tame.  It worked well with the chickens and made slaughter so much easier because they were not afraid.  My last batch of hens were more traumatic to slaughter because we had not handled them and they were not calm.

So we are planning a lot of play time with the 'gobble-gobbles' and if they are lucky there will be a couple of females in the bunch.  They will, hopefully, be for breeding.  http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.150894681649494.37397.100001868904943&l=cb8ce5d1b2

Spanish Black update;  I can't believe it has only been a month ago.  The blacks are on the grass now.  We are really enjoying them and I love the chirling noises they make when we go out to see them - they are very personable with us.  It's the food of course but it still makes me feel special .

Here they are in thier new digs on the grass:

Who is that guy trying to prove "the grass is always greener..."?
Looks like you will have a Happy Thanksgiving.
