Since I don't see this posted on Permies yet, I'm going to leave it here (below).  This is from Rosalee de la Foret, a well known herbalist.  She has set up a GoFundMe site for Jim McDonald.  Here's the link to the GoFundMe site, https://www.gofundme.com/jim-mcdonald039s-recovery.  Also, Rosalee is participating in an ultimate herbs and oils bundle and will donate her sales to Jim's fund.  That link is here, https://ultimatebundles.com/sale/heo2018?affiliate=0.  Michael Cottingham, another awesome herbalist, has donated one of his lifetime access spaces; if interested, look up Michael Cottingham or Voyage Botanica on FB.  The outpouring has been amazing.  If you have even dabbled a little in herbs, you've probably come across Jim.  His website is pinned open on my computer - it's in constant use.

It’s with a sad heart that I write to tell you that my dear friend and fellow herbalist jim mcdonald had a massive heart attack while teaching in Scotland. He has had surgery and is in the coronary ICU for recovery. Please send your prayers and intentions for a thorough recovery.

jim is a brilliant herbalist and an amazing person. I am sure many of you know him personally and have had the chance to study with him. Or perhaps you’ve studied with him from long distance through his course on HerbMentor, visited his site (herbcraft.org), or even followed his informative and funny posts on Facebook. However you know jim, this is hard news for all of us.

jim’s wife and three children are on their way to Scotland. They anticipate needing to stay there for at least a month while jim regains his strength enough so that he is able to fly back home.

The financial burden of medical bills and extensive travel are overwhelming. Beyond that we aren’t sure how long jim will be out of work and the day to day costs of bills, a house payment and even basics like food is also a major concern.
Or is it?
So many of us have been touched by jim’s witty sense of humor and deep insights into the plant world.
I have no doubt that we can pull together to raise enough money to take care of them during this incredible challenge. Let’s show jim and his family how much they mean to us.
Let’s raise so much money that we ensure that they can focus on healing and not on financial worries.
A GoFundMe has been set up for the mcdonald family. Please visit it here and donate.
In addition to personal donations, we also need to spread the word to every corner of the herbal community. If you have an email list or followers on social media, please share this GoFundMe campaign. Include your own personal story about how jim’s teachings have touched you and remind people that every little donation helps.

Thank you for your generosity, love and support for jim and his family!
