What's wrong wit dis pic? ...too peachy?

Just finished reworking fencing for relative privacy of broodies. Now watching chickens sitting up our peach tree and wonder how far this "garden bird" thing should be taken? The Japanese call them garden birds but i wonder what actual damage they could do, like eating the tiny forming just set peaches? Seems likely that term is meant only be conditional. Maybe my reworking their run around the tree is overdue?

They'll probably leave the peaches alone until they are almost ripe. Then it will be mayhem.

I lost an entire apple crop this way. I had even netted the trees against rosella predation from above, but the hens flew into the trees from underneath and devoured all our apples one year. Now I am no longer a proponent of chickens in fruit orchards.

Listen to Phil, I've seen it myself.  Build a new spot for the chickens before those peaches pop.

My chickens destroyed a crop of blueberries one year. They ate the berries green. Now every year they have to spend about 6 weeks in chicken jail so we can get the fruit.

Whoa, looks like my greatest fears will be realized (of not having a peachy end to summer) if i dont rerun our chicken run. Much Thanks for the replies and I'll try not to be too hard on my jailbirds , OgreNick
