Get on this if you have been procrastinating like me.

There is a state program to increase the number of colonies, but they run out of money typically in a month or so.

The link is here.

They apparently don't include actual bees, just several different hive equipment, but you can choose deep or medium Langstroth or top-bar. I am putting them up, assuming I will get a swarm this summer or spring.

It would be better if they would give a tax credit in the same amount they are spending but I guess this is easier to police.

This looks like an incredible offer! I wish I lived in Virginia or that my state would do something similar. The world needs more pollinators so anyone out there (well, in Virginia anyway) who has ever entertained the idea of keeping bees should look into this for sure!

I was so excited by the possibilities for bee grants that I decided to go to look for something similar in my state. If you want to raise bees or improve your land for bees and you don't live in Virginia, all is not lost. I found this article listing grants in a few other states. You may want to check it out ...
