PLEASE

All kickstarter support needs to happen in this thread.

UPDATE

This thread got to be huge so we are now moving all support to a private forum specifically devoted to this kickstarter. If you supported the kickstarter and you are logged in, you should be able to post in the private forum here:

https://permies.com/f/370/bwb-kickstarter

Here's an abbreviated list of why we are asking you to post in the private forum:

1 - there is a good chance that somebody can reply much faster there
2 - you can look to see if your problem has already been solved
3 - getting your problem sorted out can help others
4 - since most of the stuff from the kickstarter will be managed through this site, we can look up your account to figure out problems (much faster!)
5 - there is a lot of work to be done and we are dividing it up amongst several people, your post there helps to coordinate between everybody.
6 - if you have a problem we are struggling to understand, we can rope in others to help
7 - this list is just the beginning of a long, long list.  Please keep all your support needs to the private forum.

This is the support thread for this kickstarter.

Once the kickstarter finishes, it will be a few weeks before kickstarter tells us "these are the people who have officially backed your project!" Once that happens we will send out a backer survey through kickstarter. The survey will have questions that will help us sort out the details on handing out all of the candy.

Once we have tabulated all of the survey results, we will start to hand out some of the candy. We'll put a checklist of sorts in this thread to keep everyone updated with what we have sent out and what is still on the list of things to send out.

When you are logged in you will see a link called "my stuff" at the top of every page.  If you click on that, it will give you a list of all the things you have so far.  This link should do the same thing (maybe bookmark it?)

If you have any trouble getting any of the kickstarter candy, there might be some helpful clues in this thread or in the private support forum. Please read to see if your question has already been answered before you post.

Thanks again for being a part of this kickstarter!

All those that put in $100 or more, could come to the PEP1 event that starts on May 20.   Is there anybody that wants that?

Quick question - I already have some of the goodies from previous Kickstarters, e.g. the rocket oven microdoc.  For duplicates like that, how does it work?  Would I end up with maybe a gift code, so I could give access to someone else?  Not too big of a deal either way, just curious.

Hmm, I am going to look into this - I might just be interested.  Until yesterday there was no way I could've (long story), but now not only is it a possibility but I could see it being very beneficial.  I am just not in great health so I will have to do some reading to see if it's something I could manage right now.

Looks like a great event in any case though!

This is from the gapper fee stretch goal that was unlocked - which gives those who put in $100 or more several options at wheaton labs, not just PEP1.

If you would like to attend the PEP1 event, please post your interest here:  https://permies.com/wiki/98047/PEP-Certification-workshop-gathering-event

OR

You could join the bootcamp:  https://permies.com/wiki/bootcamp

Definitely pop out to the thread about it

https://permies.com/wiki/98047/PEP-Certification-workshop-gathering-event

Mention that you supported the kickstarter at $100 or more and wanna come to the event.   Things will start to happen from there.

One option you could ask in the questionnaire which may save on some shipping costs, would be to hold on to the physical books for those planning to come visit for the PDC/ATC or bootcamp etc. Then the backer could take the books home when they go. I'm hoping to do it this way, assuming the printed books would be ready in July? I'm hoping to give several copies to my local library system and some others as gifts, and the shipping seems a waste when I can just take them home with me for free.

We are expecting that physical books will be delivered in October. We are hoping that, if we are very lucky and the stars align just right, they might be delivered as early as August. But the chances of July are extremely slim.

Ah darn, as Shawn just wrote, the books are more likely to be done in October, not July. I'm sorry that's not likely to work when you're here!

Currently, if you select "US Virgin Islands" as your shipping country, (when that is NOT your shipping country  - or if it is add a note), that is our code to not ship the books. Either you want all e-books or you'll be here to pick up the books.

I watched with dismay the video on how to increase my pledge after I had already increased my pledge. I definitely did not do it right.

I also can't seem to find anywhere on the kickstarter page to confirm that I entered the correct shipping address. There doesn't seem to be a setting anywhere to verify or edit this info.

Thank you for the assistance and my apologies for the extra work.

Well, I guess that I fall firmly into the category of "Thought I was smart enough" to up my support level without watching the video that Shawn posted (and probably worked really hard on!).

So I upped my support to $100, but now Kickstarter says I am still at the "Glory" level, rather than the level that gets all the fabulous goodies.

Please help!  So excited!  And WOW!  So glad to see that so many people support this - shows a demand for hope and action that gives me more hope and inspiration!

Glory mishap,
There was a fub as I turned my $25 donation into a $100 one, and it seems like I am $15 shy of my actual desired donation. Thank you for helping to correct this. Y'all are the best!!!
Here is a thread that I am part of from the kickstarter comments page.

Lisa Marie about 3 hours ago
Ok. Apparently I have been duped by the computer. In response to all the pleas to up my pledge to $100, I dutifully went in and changes my pledge to $100. Now that the campaign is over (congratulations!), Kick starter is telling me I am still pledged at the "More books" level (instead of Glory with all the attending perks) and that I only pledged $95??!! So... How do I fix this? Because after being bombarded with so many emails about how cool my rewards would be at the $100 level, I would be very disappointed if I didn't get them. Thanks!

This happened to me as well. 😥 Is there a way to correct for this???

Lisa, we will make sure everything is right as rain. The first step is to post to the support thread: https://permies.com/wiki/bwb-kickstarter-support

Dang it... it's still May 10th but it seems the kickstarter is over.
I'm experiencing huge fomo...
wait, it's not just Fear of missing out... I really missing out on the bonuses...  so what is that called "Frustration of Missing out"?

I had hoped to pledge $15 and get the real book, plus those other fun things.

Hey everyone, we will add you to the list of people whose goodies will need manual support. We'll post here when we get through all of the bulk delivery and start processing manual stuff.

As for shipping address, the time has not yet come. I believe the survey we send in a couple of weeks will ask for your shipping info and then we will ask you to confirm it just before we start the shipping process.

Hi Andy, I think we tried lots of things to specify when the kickstarter would end. Sorry, but you'll have to buy the book without the goodies.

I didn't follow the directions (sorry) and initially signed up for $10, then upped it to $100.  Pledge says $10 but paid $100.  Please add me to your list.  So sorry to cause extra trouble.  Thanks so much for all you guys have done on this.  It is truly amazing and I'm so excited to dig in (even if I don't get it till winter).

Justin,

I found your account.  BTW - your email address on permies is different than your email address on kickstarter.   That could cause some problems.

$105 for the $15 level.  US Shipping.   My guess is that you will want at least one physical copy.   The shipping at the $100 level is $10 more.  Use this link and we will get you sorted:   https://permies.com/pp/10/justin-sikora-kickstarter-fix

The address gets asked for later.

US Shipping, right?  And you would like at least one physical copy, right?   If that's true, use this link to send over the shipping https://permies.com/pp/15/matthew-anderson-kickstarter-fix

The $100 level is the glory level and kickstarter thinks you have selected a much lower level.

It looks like you are in the US.   The amount you have paid is perfect if you wish to receive zero physical copies at the $100 level.   If you want at least one physical copy, send over $15 with this link https://permies.com/pp/15/lisa-marie-kickstarter-fix

I have verified what you say.  Kickstarter has $100 of yours.  And thinks you want the stuff at the $25 level.

If you want zero physical books, then we are okay.   Otherwise you will need to come up with the coin for canadian shipping.

I found your kickstarter stuff.  Verified.

If you don't want any physical copies, then we are square on coin.   If you want even one physical copy then we need to hear about where in the world you are.

All true.

We ask for addresses later.

There is a special field in kickstarter where we can write some notes - so we can record stuff there.   But that probably won't be processed at the time that we do all the en masse stuff.

Jocelyn has some ideas that could smooth things out - but no guarantees.

I notice Kickstarter is linking people to a pre-order page: https://permies.com/t/112519/Building-World-Backyard-angry-bad
The price is $7.99 but doesn't clearly state that it is an eBook.

Man, oh man, looks like handling the kickstarter goodies is going to be more work than writing the book!  Glad you've got some help or we would probably find you burrowing into a hugulculture mound some moonlit evening.  I'm looking forward to getting my goodies ($30 level) and learning more stuff.  And I'm really looking forward to reading the book.  Thanks very much to Paul and all the people who keep him from pulling his hair out.  I know a lot of people have put many hours into the book and the kickstarter.

Fortunately, we've done a few kickstarters in the past, so we're getting a lot better at it.  :)

Also, this time we were strongly focused on NOT offering stretch goals that didn't already exist - thus creating stuff from obligation instead of "hey, you know what would be cool?"

There was a fub as I turned my $25 donation into a $100 one, and it seems like I am $15 shy of my actual desired donation. Thank you for helping to correct this. Y'all are the best!!!

BTW - your permies.com email is different from your kickstarter email.  That could lead to problems.

I have verified what you say.  Kickstarter has $100 of yours.  And thinks you want the stuff at the $25 level.

If you want zero physical books, then we are okay.   Otherwise you will need to come up with the coin for canadian shipping.

Let's go with all ebooks!!!

All ebooks is now in your special note on kickstarter.   The key is that in the fray of getting all the goods to everybody, this note will probably be forgotten - but there will come to be a time when we say "everybody has been sent everything" and if you are missing anything, that is the time to speak up!

With a bit of luck, you will get all the goodies when everbody else does.

Definitely pop out to the thread about it

https://permies.com/wiki/98047/PEP-Certification-workshop-gathering-event

Mention that you supported the kickstarter at $100 or more and wanna come to the event.   Things will start to happen from there.

Just a quick reminder.   $100 and up folks - say something now and Coco will process you tomorrow!

$100 and up folks: to express interest in getting a ticket to the upcoming PDC or ATC, or to staying in a structure any time of year, or to coming out for the signing party, you need to fill out the google form:

https://permies.com/t/112497

We will select the people for the PDC and ATC in the next two days - because those people will need to make arrangements right away to get here!

I am thinking that sometime in the next 24 hours of sending out the 4 gift codes for the hugelkultur microdoc.   This will give people a chance to understand how our system works and get people tasted up for the world domination gardening 3-DVD set.

The people at the $1000 level now have access to the book transcript.   They will need to read the book and figure out what they want to say in the book!  The also have the ability to make note throughout the book.   The professional editor is also writing notes right now.

Everybody at $100 and up gets early access to the transcript.  Shawn and I have discussed this and we agree that this will happen after the editor is finished, but before shawn and I consider all of the editor notes.    So my thinking is that it will probably be less than a week, and people will have about 72 hours to make their notes!   More info soon!

For those of you that upped your backer level but fell into the pit of kickstarter not properly recording your wishes ...

  - you WILL get your candy
  - you will NOT get the proper kickstarter survey (kickstarter does not give us a way to fix this)
o this will make things extra challenging for some things like getting your name into the book
                    - please help us double check to make sure that we processed the "odd ducks" at the proper time

We will do our best, but this is a powerful breeding ground for human error.  Further, we offer the prices as super cheap because we will be processing people en masse.  Now you know why during the kickstarter we pushed shawns video so hard.  :)

At the very worst, some people won't get their name in where they want it.  But everything else, we can fix.

Justin, I received the extra ten bucks.   That is now in your kickstarter note.
