Thanks! I do have full roof insulation, wide eaves and whirly birds in the roof (do you have them in the US?). So passage of hot air out is not a problem. I even put in closeable ceiling vents to keep airflow during summer - our biggest problem is humidity from Sept - March here in the sub-tropics.

I've seen solar reflective paint as an option within multiple companies here in Queensland. I guess I'll read the spec sheets and compare plain white paint to solar paint. Currently, the roof is a dirty forest green.

Appreciate you comments thanks!

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has used or decided not to use solar reflective roof paint. I live in a hot climate and am getting my roof done in the next couple of weeks. Will be painting it white definitely, but interested in the new technologies. Are they worth it on comparison?

Good luck Hamish - I've been to Goondiwindi and it was a lovely little spot waaaaay back in the 80s.

I've found that my dog, as she picks the ripe toms that she things are balls, does a really good job of planting new tomatoes. I have them coming up everywhere! I can't believe it's the middle of autumn and I'm still picking tomatoes, but i've got them growing on every side of the garden now and it's amazing to see where that sun reaches or where the compost mulch has really warmed up.

Poor you Bronto! I find the same thing but I'm on the Sunny Coast. Good luck with the land purchase.
