Brilliant!

I just pledged and can't wait to see this project come to life.

Keep up the great work.

ps: love your playing cards

We had Marathon Grass in the front and back yard. Over the years, Bermuda grass has infiltrated.
There is such a wealth of knowledge here at permies.com, that I have hope that someone can help us with this.

We are now ready to redo our front and back yard.
Front will have no lawn. It will be a garden to draw butterflies, birds and bees
Back yard will have no lawn either, it is going to be a small food forest of sorts (approx. a 20 x 10 foot area)

how can we get rid of the Bermuda so we can start over? (no chemicals)

Our landscaper (is traditional and knows nothing of permaculture) says we must spray to really get rid of it. I can't accept this to be true, but finding conflicting information. anyone have experience with this?
I wish we could hire a permaculture expert in Anaheim CA, but need to get over that ....because we can't find anyone. So, we are going to just try to figure it out as we go, on our own.

thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

I went to the San Diego Permaculture Convergence this March and I heard a talk given by the owner of this Permaculture Design Company , La Loma.
They are based in Pasadena, not too far...and if so, maybe they could recommend someone? I have seen their work before and they do an amazing job and work on various types of projects...

We finally have a place to start

We are preparing to tear up and start over in our backyard and are looking for a consultant in Southern CA.
We have a small backyard, and figure that is a place to learn. Long term, we plan to purchase about 20 acres out of state, but for now we are "stuck" here

We have a little experience in traditional vegetable gardens, but that is it. We have been slowly learning about permaculture and want to incorporate this in our back yard, but there is so much to learn and we have very little spare time.

Between work and more work, we have little time to invest in doing this alone and want to hire someone to kind of jump start us with a plan/design.

we are looking for an expert in the field (not someone with a certificate that just completed a course) and would appreciate anyone that can point us in the right direction.

Thank you in advance
