I'm currently in Lebanon, OR and would like to move out of my house I'm renting into a tipi by February. I'm looking to pay low rent ($200 perhaps?) to be allowed to live on someone's land, and hopefully garden as well. I would be accompanied by my dog, three chickens, and bees. The land lord would be welcome to a share of my eggs and honey along with rent. Initially, I'd be living out of my truck and tent so I could save up for said tipi. I'm working full and overtime, and would like to stay near enough where I could keep my job. However, if I could be guaranteed full time work where ever it is I end up, then I'm happy to do that, as well. Alsea, Corvallis, Philomath, Monmouth, Independence, Albany, and any place within 30 minutes of Wood Castle Furniture (my place of employment) are all options for places I'd be willing to live. One thing to note, my dog hates cats. She will be tied up at all times, and I'd put up a fence if I'm allowed, to keep her contained, regardless of cats or not.

If any of you would like to help me, I'd greatly appreciate it! I have no internet, so feel free to text me 541 905 2983. It's the fastest way to get a hold of me since I can only use the library's internet.

Any links you'd recommend? I'm looking at a place that has a natural pond that's stream fed on a hill, and I'd like to integrate it to the cob house somehow.

So, I've been playing with cob house designs on paper (looking to get land this summer to start collecting materials for building next season), and I realized I have very little clue on how to plumb and wire the house. I was wondering if any of you kind folks have come across some detailed guides that explain the do' and don't's, and maybe, perhaps, a guide on how to plan it all out on paper.

Thanks a million!

Howdy everyone! My name is Vermin and I've just started taking steps to starting my dream life of learning and living permaculture. Like, just, /just/, starting. I've almost finished reading "The Hand Sculpted House", I've drawn some floor plans on graphing paper, and I transferred one of those designs onto a piece of cardboard to begin building a 1"=1ft scale model. I've even posted a craigslist ad in my area hoping someone would have a half acre of land to lease to me for my first cottage!
I've dreamed of living out of a cob house for years, and I've dreamed of living out of an earthen building for as long as I've thought about houses. I plan on getting a guide on permaculture gardening as soon as I'm finished with the cob book, and looking into supplementary resources as well. Any recommendations are most welcome!
Anywho, I'm looking forward to hearing from y'all, and I can't wait to read the wisdom of you experienced folks on here!
