I found dimensions for this land on her website. It works out to be 1.36 acres. There’s actually a lot of information on her website (and some beautiful photos).
I received a commission!
Paul,

I have sent you some technical findings I discovered while testing things related to this.
I sent you those to the e-mail which shows up in my PayPal history as your contact information (at Javaranch.com).

Thanks again.

Dave
Paul,

I'm sorry. I thought it was an issue of my having done something you might have viewed as me trying to take an unfair discount. I was trying to see things from your perspective. I hadn't meant you were keeping back "my" money "for a hoot" or anything like that.
I appreciate what you do with Wheaton labs and I'm trying to help. I know you do a lot of things for a lot of people and are not trying to set things up in a way that prevents people from getting paid. I said I figured I had done something wrong.
My apologies for improperly guessing which thing I had done wrong.

I can certainly understand why a message like "no affiliate" would make you think I had used the wrong link.
I'm trying to find my notes where I may have written down which link I used. I think it was the "send purchaser directly to PayPal" link.
I have attached a screen shot of the place where my affiliate page says that I used one of my affiliate links (or that's how I understand it, anyway).
Perhaps I took too long at PayPal and some software somewhere timed out causing it to be registered as "no sale" even though I did actually make the purchase?
Timeouts can be tricky.
I will get with Daron to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks again for your help.
As a professional computer programmer, I find it really useful to test things. So, when I bought myself a copy of one of the Rocket Mass Heater videos, I checked to see if I got paid through my affiliate link I used.
I did not. I understand Paul wanting to get paid, too. So, I don't begrudge him the money. I'm guessing that he considers it to be a cheap way to get a large discount on purchases which would be unfair.

However, I would like to get paid at some point for getting other people to use the affiliate links.
If I'm going to get friends and relatives to buy things from the site so that I can earn an income, what do I need to do differently to actually get paid?
I mean, it is one thing to buy something once as an experiment and find out I must have done it wrong.
It is another thing to have people over and try to sell them something and not get paid over and over again. I would like to avoid that.
What's the difference? Do I need to have people just not use my computer (as in, the tracking is by cookie) or do they need to have a different IP address to not look to the system like the people buying using my link are actually me?

I appreciate the generous affiliate commissions that Paul advertises. I also appreciate all the valuable information I have received from listening to Paul's podcasts and from reading his web pages.
Thank you for the additional details.
