Case in point on the magnesium -- you had to buy the better quality (glycinate) vs the mag oxide which is basically Milk of Magnesia, an aid for the runs. And yes, it is the cheapo version of magnesium and I avoid it. Buying quality matters in the other vitamins as well. For example, with vitamin B12, methylcabolamin is the preferred version as it is highly absorbable but the cheapo vitamins continue to use cobalamin. So you have to learn to discern which brands have the better quality and then I believe they are quite worth taking. Insurance I call them. . . . Regarding migraines I too take magnesium for the prevention of these and have found that a dose as low as 400 mg works for me. Cristal
