Hi Anne.
Glad to hear there is another family doing permaculture thats great. Our property is up off black bart rd. I am up there every day trying to get it started. Should have the whole family moved up in around a month I hope.
We have 2 goats and a lot of chickens so far. Im putting in gates today , have to finish milling some lumber today then I will attempt to build and install in a day if i have the time.
This weekend we are going to plant some winter veggies.
Have a nice one , Jay Ruff

You guys have permaculture set up? How long have you been doing it?
I will take some updated pics today. I am up there 7 days a week so in the 2 - 3 months I have had the property I am getting to know the grounds pretty well. There is a old stamp mill at the creek, and a old cabin foundation at the upper part in elavation. We have found 2 coyote traps so far. Next project is the pond and the hydro ram pump and I also have to work on the 5th wheel we bought, I am going to build a extension onto it for wife and I bedrrom and the living room area, Kids will have the 5th wheel.

I have a GMC 4000 3 ton truck , but it is 27 feet long and hard to move it around the property. The F 150 holds more rocks than the backhoe so that what I use.

I grew up in this area as a kid to 18 so I know it well. The property I have only known for 2 months. I want to plant fruit trees and and a lot of veggiies. I am clearing brush ( manzanita ) only dropped 2 live pines so far.

Thanks for the welcome. Here are some pics, the clearing is a little bigger now, which will be zone 1. We are setting up the hydro ram pump soon once we dig a pond area above zone 1. We have 2 goats so far and chickens.

Did you guys find anyone? My family and I are doing the same thing. We are 20 miles in the foothills out of Oroville with 21 acres, just got it 2 months ago, I am clearing and trying to get it going, pretty much just me up there now. Maybe we could meet and exchange ideas / BS . My name is Jay.

My family and just bought 21 acres and we are setting up the permaculture farm. I have been up there for 2 months trying to get it going. Property is really thick with vegetation. Have most of zone one cleared out , I got a alaskan mill so I am milling the trees into lumber for projects.
We are in Butte County in the foothills outside of Oroville.
Anyone around here doing the same thing?
