Oops. I'm interested in building rocket stoves (different sizes) for cooking. At the moment it seems like an indoor version isn't considered safe, so I guess outdoors.
Is the workshop in Majorca using cob or clay? (Is there actually anything else that can be used anyway?)
Would you be interested in running a workshop in the Canaries if there was enough interest?

What a beauty. And congratulations on your retrofit.
Today I tried the simple tin cans. I can't say it was a roaring success. Another attempt soon...

Thanks for the replies.
Love the Ecofagao design and also wonder about the hot water part of it.
The Lorena design is great, but we don't live in an area where cob makes sense.
If anyone has links to simple (for a non-technical newbie) designs for a rocket stove water heater (outdoors), please do share. Only interested in DIY options, rather than ready-made. Located in Canaries.
Currently reading 'The Book' and learning lots!
Much appreciated.

Anyone know of such a workshop coming up any time soon? Preference is the Canary Islands or Spain but will consider further afield.
Thanks!

Did anyone ever try any of these ideas? Pics please!
Would mosaics be possible or would it affect the functionality of the drum?
Would wrapping copper coil around the drum (as Alex Keenan) suggests affect it by drawing heat out more? Would it be a problem?

Found this old post: https://permies.com/t/29634/Indoor-rocket-stove-exterior-venting

So the advice seems to be I should have a pipe to remove the exhaust fumes but I can't see how this would work with something like a 6-brick rocket. Where would the pipe be attached, for example? Is it talking about this kind of a pipe?

And does it matter how long it is? From what I've read, the length of the pipe matters (or is that only in RMH)?
Sorry if these questions seem dumb - I have done some research beforehand but I'm not at all technically-inclined. Open to learning though!

Hi there,
I'm a total newbie when it comes to rocket stoves, and have been watching tons of videos. In them, the rocket stoves always seem to be outside. Is it possible to have a simple rocket stove inside (e.g. the ones made from a few cinder blocks or bricks)? If not, what is the easiest way to build one indoors and ventilate it appropriately?
Thanks.

I'm trying to find just ONE online course that lists its syllabus for a permaculture design certificate and a permaculture design diploma, so I can compare them easily. I've been looking around permaculture course sites for hours, and can't find anything like that. The closest I've come is pages-long documents that outline the PDC as per Mollison's original model.

Examples: http://permaculturenews.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/PRI-PDC-Outline.pdf and http://permaculturenews.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Graham-Bell-Curriculum.pdf

Can anyone help point me toward something more visually clear that compares the 2?

Many thanks.
