Your plan sounds great. I as well have been pondering the notion of self sufficiency. Well more than pondering. I have a gardening and preserving background. I have looked into all sorts of construction of root cellar, straw bale buildings, off grid living. I know a family that has been completely off grid for the last 4 years in a remote area, and they have no intentions of returning. It is a family of six that has bought into the life style completely.
I feel comfortable tackling any project that pertains to that lifestyle and have a strong background in all types of construction, all that I need is a like minded person willing to venture down a path of less dependence on mainstream society.
I am a new member looking to share ideas and establish relationships.
