Just a note to say I've passed some seeds on to southern Alabama and coastal Virginia.
Ok, weird question, but could you use it to make powdered sugar (which is better than store bought with the added corn starch)?

So here is the pic of the squash. I counted 68 total moschatas. There were round, pear shaped, and squat and round. There were also some the same shape but with some ribbing and those are still greenish. There are some other squash in the pic (Mountaineer maxima, a few misc. pepos, and Alagold moschata), but the majority are the landrace moschata.

Thanks again for the seeds!
Hey, thank you for the seeds. Here are a couple pics of the jungle that grew. There are small fruit trees in cages somewhere in there and the third pic is one growing four feet up in a mulberry tree. I meant to post a pic of the pile of squash, but the camera battery ran out so I'll have to post that later. There were an interesting variety of shapes that grew and I'll be collecting seed from a mix of them. Thanks again!
Right now we have about 2000ft of garden space, but there's 5 acres around the house and we keep chipping away at lawn adding more garden and orchard space. I'm starting a new orchard area and putting in a mix of fruit trees and squash will do fine there as ground cover. There's also another area of about .2 acres I'm planning to put three sisters and sunflowers and a moschata squash would be welcome as we have squash vine borer issues. We're zone 5b so as long as the squash aren't 120 days they should do fine. Sorry I don't have pictures...
Very versatile. It would be useful in a garden and an orchard. Being able to break up clods of soil is nice. Our soil has an excess of magnesium, so even though it's sandy loam it acts like clay and I have to break up clumps by hand before I can plant seeds. The spading fork does ok, but this would do better.
