I've found that by adding some 2 cycle oil at around 300:1 and using duct tape to close off 1/3 of the air intake to fix the fuel/air ratio, just about any small 4 cycle engine will run on E-85. Looks like a Coleman lantern will run in-modified.

Inulin is a 5 carbon starch-like substance and regular amylase won't crack it. I've read reports about using HCl to convert it. Not sure how strong, what temperature, or for how long.

I have just recently applied for a small alcohol fuel license and should get in in about 2 weeks according to the TTB. I'm looking for devices that will use this fuel in-modified. I've found marine stoves, and have heard about alcohol fuel lanterns but have not found a source for them. Does anyone know of other devices?

I have access to a couple hundred pounds of deserts every week (cup cakes, pies, pastries, donuts) and have good success at using enzymes to convert the starch as well as direct use of the sugar. Byproducts go to my pigs. I also have a flex-fuel truck, so I'm hoping to use the alcohol to make E-85.
