Greetings permies.com:
I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; which is about the same latitude as Montana; and will likely not move far as the Grandkids are here.
I have supported 2 of Paul Wheaton's Kick Starters; The Truly Passive Greenhouse  and SKIP.
I have also been reading some of the 'dailyish' posts and links that I receive.
I am not the most computer savvy person around so I likely have missed a fair amount of information and usually have not been available for the ZOOM sessions.
I enjoy the 'movies' on the greenhouse and hope there will be some summarizing information.
Examples could include but not be limited to cross sectional drawings of the structure with dimensions and materials, efforts and resources expended versus benefit and so on.
The current question I have is about the 'COB' on the 'back' wall; Does it continue up over the roof at all? How is the roof insulated?

I originally sent the above text to a different thread and Paul suggested I ask my questions here.

To Summarize: Are there current cross sectional drawings of the Wofati Structure with dimensions and materials? That would possibly include the answer to my question about 'COB'.
My 'effort and resource expended versus benefit' question will be better answered over time.

Mike Haasl wrote:Hi Jerry, your missive is delightful.  I'll focus on the SKIP part of your post.

There are a couple ways to avoid the expensive shipping.  One way is to only back at the $15 level to get the eBook.  The other way is to back at the $65 level or higher and select US Virgin Islands as your location.  Then you need to only select electronic goodies when we send you a survey after the kickstarter.  By doing that you don't have to pay any shipping.

We realize you live in Canada but for purposes of activating the "Free shipping for Electronic Goodies" approach you have to tell kickstarter you're in the Virgin Islands.

Is that relatively clear?  Thanks for backing!!!

Mike:

I was typing about the problems I was having; hopefully that did not get posted. When I reread my 'message' I saw something, went back into the Kickstarter link and was able to increase my support from $25 USD + $25 USD shipping to $65USD with no shipping. At that minute it showed as $80.02 CDN. Apparently the exchange rate moved in my favour since my initial support. I'll take the chance that the exchange rate will not move too much by May 2.

In addition to budget restrictions I was only looking for the 'benefits' of the $45 USD level. I do not need you to include my name in any of the books.

I will want to review the 18 e-books and let you know if there are some that I won't be needing. How would I do that; when would I need to do that; and how would I let you know if there are e-books that could be 'given' to others?

Thank you so much for helping me support what I think is a worthy cause.
Sincerely

Switching over to the SKIP book:
Being on a budget I was hoping to 'donate less' than $80 Canadian. What I ended up being able to donate was $25 USD which then had a $25 USD shipping fee. With the currency exchange that comes to just over $60 Canadian. I would be quite willing to receive electronic copies and was trying to figure out how to just donate $50 USD and then I would have all those electronic books and be able to share some with other people that permies.com felt worthy to receive them.

I hope this missive makes sense and that contacting you this way works.
O yes. What is the best way to contact permies.com when I do not know that my missive applies to any particular thread?
