Thats tough without electricity. If you are going to do plumbing, better keep a constant flow otherwise it'll freeze. So a chicken water feature? Not a bad way to keep the water clean as well. Just make sure it has somewhere to go and that an ice dam doesn't cause issues.

My experience with compost heater: one time the coop was elevated off the ground so the water froze of course froze. A different coop which was in an unheated room with 6 chickens and accumulated litter from October to February: 5 gallon water container froze solid on cold nights (below 10 degrees).

Hello, this is zone 6 and clay soil. Any thoughts on crop spacing?

wapsi valley does great for us. ready to harvest in september from late may planting in PA. delicious mostly yellow ears with a couple of red ones here and there.
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone could please suggest some good resources for planning a new tree planting (managed for coppice production). I'm not having much luck on the internet getting specifics.

What I'm interested in is: in row spacing distances for each species, between row spacing, interval of harvest per species, expected size per species (height as well as width).

I was planning on black locust for pole production and alder for ramial wood chip production.

Thank you,
