I'm in east Texas and have a large population of these jumping worms on my property. My chickens seem to have personal preferences, some love these and others are clearly not interested... I was reading that they can accumulate heavy metals and am now worrying that I've been feeding my family toxic eggs. So frustrating!

I sure would love to see an update on how this junk pole fence looks now. I am considering doing something similar but worry about longevity.

Hello! I just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. My husband and our 3 kiddos are in the process of relocating to the Nacogdoches area and would love the opportunity to network with other east Texas permaculture practitioners.

We haven't settled in just yet, but are hoping to buy a place in the Nacogdoches area this fall. My husband and I have long been interested in homesteading our own place and would love the opportunity to get to know other east Texas dwellers. Especially interested to meet others with young families, our brood needs playmates!

I second the Japanese style clothesline. They are traditionally made from bamboo poles which I think look lovely, plus they are quite strong and very sustainable, if you have bamboo available in your area.
