I was thinking about willow and sorghum. Timothy hay for rabbits. Comfrey. From what I've read it would be better to let any of this used for feed, dry out a bit. Sorghum to fifty percent is what I've read. I imagine comfrey is okay fresh. If I lived somewhere warm, I would plant Moringa. Pollard if you are trying to keep critters at bay. I am thinking about fodder for chickens and goats and rabbits, cover crops that can be used as feed. sorry to ramble.

I like green tea the best but Chamomile tea is nice.  Sometimes I like tea with Peppermint and I always have some throat coat tea around, it has licorice in it.

It would be interesting to live on the water in the boat. Travel somewhere warm each winter.

I am looking for a shower tap that turns off after a while to conserve water.  I know I can just turn things off, but others have an issue with the idea. I've seen them for a kitchen or bathroom sink but not for the shower. I haul water and every drop is precious. Does anyone use such an item? sources?

I'm curious myself. I plan on using one in my home. But I would have preheated water from a water heater that is used as a diverter load for my solar/ wind setup. I will use one with a manifold to supply a few taps.

jay, you need to find an engineer who will make plans for you and stamp them. If you just build without a permit it will bite you later on with daily fines and the possibility of having to destroy your own home or pay back the county for doing it. I am just telling you to it right. Yeah, it sucks.

I'm going to make above-ground beds and if branches and wood are good, wouldn't wood chips be even better? They are more broken down already.

I could get horse manure but I am concerned with what would be in it. It would make filling above-ground beds easier. I appreciate the replies.
My interest in goats is because of what they provide. meat, milk, cream, and butter. Fats that help keep people alive. Butter for frying eggs and veggies.
I plan on building a few hoop houses and growing food for my family. I think we face tough times ahead and wonder about my neighbors and how they will feed their kids. I figure they will see my hoop houses and come asking for food. I would like to give them something to eat. But what? what grows well and would fill people's bellies? Or what would be a good food to grow for my family as well. my plan is for a garden with a variety of veggies. Salad makings and stuff to stir fry. If I were to feed others it would be better if it were something that could be cut/picked and still keep growing. While writing this, potatoes come to mind. Miners lettuce and Purslane. I would appreciate any ideas.
