Hi,
I've signed up here at the forum because of a podcast episode about PEP Badge - Gardening. And the idea intrigued me and so I'll explore a little deeper.
I have a high-carbon low-redemption day job where I trade time for money to feed my family. I have probably paid for a whole missile, or at least several thousand bullets, with my taxes and I resent it. But until I can build a way out ...
So I have a couple acres I can do whatever I want with on weekends. I keep honey bees and am learning about natives. I keep a small annual garden and supply about a meal a week's worth of veggies from it (family of seven). So not much but a start. I raise enough poultry that we have about 30% of our meat.
I have a pond, and do not yet leverage that very well, as the fish that are established (large mouth bass, bluegill sunfish) are not a preferred food.
I have a few acres of beech-oak-sweetgum woods that could be much better utilized (turkeys? pigs? shade-herbs?)
Anyway, Hi from Charlotte!
