If you are still looking for answers on how to get earthworms to breed I would like to suggest Thomas J. Barrett's book "Harnessing the Earthworm". I tried his method of propagating worms even more effective than what he suggests. Approximately 500 worms produced about 700 cocoons in a month. With each cocoon yielding two worms each I more than double the population in a very short time although the worms have to mature before you have effectively double their biomass (total weight).
