Hello everyone! My name is Micah. I'm 42 seeking a homestead honey. I have 13+ acres in Warren county Missouri. I'm kind compassionate, driven, intelligent and creative. Highly aware and intentional.

My property has a plethora of wild gooseberries. The last two springs I have not been able to eat any. As soon as they are right a worm makes a tent by the berry and eats the whole inside of the ribe berry. Does anyone know what type of pests these are and how to get them under control?

This is such a a great post! I'm so excited to get started. I'm appreciating all the info here so much. Is there any issue you believe in building this out of cedar? I have tons of cedar on my property. I'm also curious if I could build this out of "wet" wood. Meaning not dried to 5-8%. Most outdoor applications it's not necessary to dry it to these levels because it's environment won't reflect a cool dry place that causes warping. But I have little experience with these hives. I did attend Dr Leos lecture and bought his swarm trap. I've just yet to build the layens hive.

The subject says it all. Is this possible? I have a swarm trap and I plan to do natural beekeeping in layens hives and it's essential I get local bees. My neighbor has been struggling with his conventional bees and informed me he bought 4 more colonies. Yikes! My goal was to trap next spring. Likely some of those colonies will have died off by then. But what are my chances of getting bees that are resilient to local issues? His bee yard is about 150 feet from my property. And unfortunately even though I have 13 acres, my clearings are close to his property line, and my bees probably will have to be 500 feet maximum from his bee yard. Thanks I'm advance.

It's best to set one self up. Seems most women are looking for independence. And that done seem to include a relationship in the normal ways.

Most are online looking, for they are jot out and about looking locally for life is busy and one is working.

So we go online seeking the world for someone that may match one's lifestyle, or close enough that one can have or start a relationship.

Do I need a partner. No
Would I like a partner, yes.
Should I have a partner. Only God knows and if it happens. Of great. If not, or great. I still will ne happy and content.

Sometimes the things we wish for, don't aways work out as we wish.

Keep working away. And be observant to those around us. And start with a coffee or a walk. And build up from there.

Maybe Love or Partner is local 🤔

Where in my post did it say I needed someone? I didn't. I simply asked how others that were truly homesteading alone were fairing.

6 years into my search for a true partnership and love and I'm on the verge of giving up. I'm curious how many others have given up on searching for a loving partnership and how homesteading has been for them. It seems extremely hard if not impossible to homestead solo. But I am leaning towards this and curious how others fair alone, without help and without companionship. I recognize that I fit in no where and it's time to just accept that. I have always sought to be the true authentic me, but in the end it leaves me far too different than anyone else out there.
