Tim Sanchez wrote:Hi . This is Tim again. Hope that All is well with you and your family. I would say pray but not sure how you would take it. At this time I'm  a Mennonite. I was horse and buggy for a time. I am Spanish. About 20 years older than you, work hard and love the lord. Before my life fell apart. I was off grid had five milk cows chickens horses goats. And  all we needed. To walk softly on the land. I  have a friend that I raised , he lives in Tennessee.  I have berries  grapes fruit trees. I have an acre and half of alfalfa. I think it be at least fun to talk to you Marry you sound real neat......tim

Hi Tim, I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your wife. I couldn't imagine loosing your partner like that. As far as your response I appreciate the effort but I am looking for someone a little closer to my age.

I am sorry to hear about your husband; off grid is definitely something that either calls to the soul or not.

Thank you, but it was no great loss, there were plenty of reasons beyond just that for the split. But you are very accurate in your statement. It definitely takes a specific kind of person to live this life.

I was born and raised near Stl. My whole life I always felt like I didn't fit in. I attribute most of my passions and interests to listening to the stories my great grandmother would tell me about her growing up on the farm. For as long as I can remember I always wanted to live that life. But being stuck in the hustle and bustle of big city life stiffled my dreams. Get a job, find a husband, have some kids, pay your bills, and die is what we were taught. True to my rebellious nature I stumbled through all of that determined to get what I wanted. I found the husband, gave birth to 5 amazing boys and ended up starting my own business! Meanwhile I spent countless hours scouring this website and many others learning as much as I possibly could. I tried my best to save every penny I could, until one day I woke up and said NO MORE! I am buying something! And that is what I did! I managed to find 4 wooded acres in Tennessee and started to clear and build everything I have now. The husband came with, but decided this life wasn't for him after all. So for the last 4 years I've been going at it with just me and the kids. It is debatable if im crazy or not, but I know I'm not alone here, you're out there somewhere. Come join me! Let's finish this together. I made sure to leave some things for you to do.

The house is 12x28 mostly off grid. 1600 watt solar array with back up generator. Water is from the city, but I plan to utilize the creek again with a ram pump like I did before. I plan to do a septic but have looked into the bio-fuel septic and greatly considering that route. Currently I compost with 5 gallon buckets. Wood heat in the winter, and preciously ive not had ac but lucky you get to enjoy summers with it, because the next install is a 24v mini split! Pretty excited about that!! There is plenty of infustructure left to build in order to have goats pigs chickens and rabbits again. Possibly even a cow, or two. My plan is to be as self sufficient as possible growing our food and fodder for the animals and selling the surplus for money.

Hey you! Been looking for you for a while. I got on here to post my own ad, thinking it would help you to find me, instead I landed on yours... lol anyway... I am currently attempting to build a homestead of my own in west Tennessee on 4 acres. 12x28 house bones done, working on the mechanics. Completely off grid with solar. All paid for, no mortgage!! Hoping to find my "guy" before I finish it. My plan is exactly as you said! CSA garden and or farmers market for the funds needed. It is extremely slow going doing it alone. Been self employed for 12 years doing concessions because the thought of working for someone else most of my life repulsed me. Let's chat!
