I've even asked friends, on numerous occasions, if they "know anyone that would be a good fit for me". They have mostly said "no" (which seems like a statistical improbability).

Yeah, I'm starting to think there's gotta be a way to make a dating site, or app that incentivizes people to set each other up.  I have some coding experience, and I have a super nerdy coder friend who's been looking for a good project.  Hmmm...
OK, so there's a problem with trying to meet other people who live off grid, or who want to live off grid.  We tend to be busy doing our own thing a lot of the time.  I know I spend most of my time working on my property.  I, like a lot of people, have posted a personal ad on here with limited response.  There just aren't enough interactions to have a good statistical chance of meeting the right person.

So, I was thinking.  (I know... thinking is dangerous, and I should cut down).  Maybe we can do something where we help each other connect with the right kind of person.  Like, read each other's ad's and see if we can come up with someone we know who might fit.  It could be a lot more successful than posting something and hoping that special person happens to see it.  Frankly, I think the lady I'm looking for doesn't spend much time online.  Maybe we can make it a game, and have some kind of incentive.  Hell, I'd happily pay someone if they introduced me to someone who became a big part of my life.

Meeting someone who is loyal, enjoys working toward goals, and wants a family is just difficult these days, and personal relationships are important.  What do you guy's think?  There's gotta be a solution.
Hey, your welcome!

No I really enjoyed it, I've been checking out some of your stuff on YouTube as well, it's pretty cool!

Haha! And for my family's adventures, I'm not sure the world's ready for that movie! 🍿 But I did get the biggest smile on my face, thinking about all I could put in it!😁
Thanks!  I feel like my youtube stuff was going downhill for a while there.  ...dealing with annoying personal garbage.  It's all sorted now, though, so I think it's getting better again.  I definitely feel a lot better having gotten a bunch of energy draining people out of my life.

Now you're making me more curious about this crazy life your family has.  I take it you're not planning to share, but... if you're up to it I'd love to hear some stories.

Love the robots, love the boats, love the buildings...!

Just curious what your stycroconcrete recipe is?

Also, thought I'd share because it's funny:  After your video ended, and you're all "now stand up and go build something", youtube autoplay decided I would also be interested in some video game channel.  Like, wow!  Couln't have gotten that more wrong.  Thanks, Youtube.

Ha ha.  Yeah, youtube is silly.  I go on there and they show my nothing I want to see.
OK, styrocrete recipe.  It changes a little now and then based on what I'm doing, but basically...
1 part cement
8 parts styrofoam bits
Enough water to make it sticky but not runny.  I can't remember a measurement for this.
Sometimes I'll add 1 part sand, but I ended up deciding that the sand wasn't important.

It is always such a great feeling to see something that you know will change the world for the better.

”Teach two, and two will teach, no one will stop but teach for two more”

It’s a beautiful chain reaction and you have knocked down many first dominoes.

I hope that's true!  That's exactly why I started making videos online in the first place.    ...to encourage a few people here and there to do the things they want to do even though people discourage them.

That movie was awesome. Jaimie, you are awesome. What an inspiration.

If anyone reads this and has not watched the movie, you seriously do have the time to watch it. Make some time. Stay up late. Just watch it. It is important.

Jaimie, thank you for making the movie. Thank you.

Hi, Saana.  Thanks!  I think I have a really big stupid grin on my face right now.    So glad you thought it was important.  I did try to get some important messages in there.
Yep, definitely one of the best movies I've seen!🎬

My family has often joked about making a movie, of our own life's experience's, good for you for actually doing just that.

I was laughing so hard at the part where you said, nothing left but a bottle full of feelings! How often in life is that to true.😏🙂
Hey, Nicole.  Thanks!  I'm glad you liked it.    You never know how people are going to take it when doing something like this.    Now I'm curious about what adventures your family has had.  I think I'd be more inclined to watch other people's crazy movies than the stuff that comes out of Hollywood.

...and yes.  Often in life all you've got left is a bottle of feelings.  Luckily they can be useful.

So... I have youtube channel and mostly I make videos about building things, and living off grid, and philosophy etc.  Last year I decided to make a full length movie.  My main goal was just to make something watchable, and to also tell a very personal story even though it's super embarrassing when that person is me.
One of my fans said, "Jaimie.  Seriously.  This is honestly the best movie I've ever seen."  He was horrible biased in my favour, but I'll take it.  So, without further ado, or doo doo... here's my going off grid movie which is probably not the best movie you've ever seen, but might be worth watching.

We are a female couple homesteading off the grid in South Africa. We’ve had quite a journey trying to find our own piece of land and we’re still not there yet, but we’re co-homesteading on a gorgeous place in the mountains right now. We buy as little as possible, and make as much as we can out of recycled and thrown out materials. We do all things permaculture based and we’re doing our PDC in September with Geoff Lawton!!! We’re trying to get monetized on YouTube so please do subscribe! 🙏🏼

OMG!  Peanuts!  That's so super cool!  I bought raw peanuts to plant a year ago and due to some confusion they sat in someones bag for a month and got moldy!  I need to try again.
