I have several uses for all jugs, they are so handy. Of course easy one... cut the top opening out and make a large easy to fill water scoop to use in the garden. Second garden idea. These are for the bottles with the push button to get the soap out deal. Poke a small hole in that plastic part that comes out when you push the button, small small hole. Fill that jug with water put the regular twist cap back on tight and put the jug near your plants, one per plant and you have a super slow drip watering system. Fill the jugs and leave them. Next even cooler slow water idea. You need one large jug per 2 - 4 plants. Bury the jug neck deep so you can refill it easy but the jug is buried between the plant roots. You will bury this before you plant. Cut 2 or 4 small holes, small holes the size of 3 strands of yarn together or a small X to slide thru (2 holes or 4 holes depending upon your watering 2 or 4 plants) near the top of the jug and put wicking thru those holes (wicking is something you can buy on amazon or where ever you want it resembles rope and it pulls water thru it. It is fairly inexpensive and you can use it over and over). The wicking hangs to the bottom of the jug and then long enough to get to the plant root. You put water into the jug, keep your twist on lid and that should show up thru the dirt. Twist that on and off to fill the jug to keep bugs and debris out. That will water your plants from underneath and at a rate that your plants want it. You will start to notice your roots are growing towards and around the wicking. You keep water off your leaves which helps with fungus and bugs. A more expensive but very similar and popular method is the clay pots in the ground that weep but they are expensive. These are almost free and we have these jugs all over the place.
