If that were the case, that they work for us, I'd agree. But we don't feel it is that. We have multiple crew that are onsite to service the interns during their time with us (cook, market gardener, process manager, multiple teachers) over 12 weeks. We make a loss on this program, not a profit, but we run it because we want to develop awesome permaculturalists. I've seen some great free internships that constitute lots of 'doing what needs be done' type work (and we used to run those too), but this isnt that. Its about developing and delivering a package of knowledge and skills transfer that make for kick-ass permaculture practitioners, and doing that in a way that doesnt physically or financially exhaust our crew and our permaculture enterprise in the process.
