Hi all,

I'm putting together a web collection of free downloadable/streamable links. I was wondering, what free web resources do you guys use?

I've found a variety of resources by searching google with a few tricks, ex. searching "permaculture .pdf" in google provides an assortment of resources for reading.

The site is underconstruction, but you can email me at webmaster@freepermacultureresources.com

All articles and resources will include a link back to the originating source.
I'm aware of some techniques for creating a warmer microclimate, but are there strategies for creating cooler microclimates? I'm some property to implement a rolling permaculture... 400+ acres avaiable (some is woodland), elevation varies between 600'-1200'. The property is located in a southwest opening valley (property includes majority of the valley, including part of a bluff on top of the mountain.) Located in the southwestern tip of the Cumberland Plateau in N Alabama..

I am supposing that higher elevations alone create a cooler microclimate (the mountain gets snow more often than in the valley, duh.) But other than  utilizing this, along with shade traps, what other tactics might there be?

I don't necessarily have any plants in mind, more interested in experimenting (the land's available, why not?).

thanks,
david

Monocropping and permacutlure are directly opposed. permaculture's etymology being "permanent agriculture" or "permanent culture", which certainly cannot be applied to conventional monocrop agriculture. One is sustainable-even beneficial, and the other is not.

A miss conception with permaculture is that it requires more time consuming work than convention agriculture. However, this is not so. Generally with a good system set up, a permaculture farmer generally only has to harvest.

Hi,

I have lived 30 minutes south of Huntsville for 23 years (my whole life). It's a great place to be.

Huntsville is going to be a great place to be, imop.

There is also a project under development in North Huntsville. The North Alabama Permaculture Center. Not sure what kind of web presence they have, but you might find them helpful.
